Desi Girls Summer 2015 - Week 13

Girls,

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION: Trail construction between Mile 1.5 and 2 will impact us on Saturday. Read my next blog entry on thursday carefully for alternate route etc.

Are you exhausted after your saturday long runs? Read this article to understand how to recover quickly after long runs and also nutrition and hydration needs.

Our half marathon is on Sep 5th. Here are couple of things that I need to know from you.

1. Our half Marathon is the day that we have been working hard for the past 12 weeks. September 5th happens to fall during the holiday weekend. If you have vacation plans, you can chose to run 13.1 miles on the previous saturday (August 29). Let me know if you prefer August 29th. I will work with you to make sure it happens.

2. Now is the time to enlist your friends and family to come and cheer for you during your half marathon on Sep 5th. The adrenaline rush and the motivation surge when you are cheered by others is phenomenal. Let me know if you are going to have guests. I will work with you to identify good parking spots where they can wait and cheer for you.

3. If you are not planning to run the half Marathon, I need your help to set up hydration stations along the route for the girls (and boys) that will participate. I would love to see few of you volunteer to help me out. Any takers?
