Desi Girls Summer 2015 - Week 9 - Midweek Chat

Girls,

We will be doing 6 mile BRISK at 6:30 am this saturday.

In case you are wondering why we should do 6 miles when we have been doing 7 plus miles recently, the answer lies in the intensity. This week's 6 miles is at a much more BRISK paced than the EASY ones that we have done recently. One of the key features of this 15 week plan is the constant changes in distance and intensity week after week. By now, your brain believes that 8 miles is doable. So, if I tell you to do 6 miles, you are likely to think that 6 miles is very easy since you have already completed 8 miles. To compensate for the reduced distance, the intensity is increased to a BRISK pace.

I hope to see many of you reach your PRs (Personal Records or Personal Best) this saturday. If you want to complete more than 6 miles, please go for it. But, I would fully expect you to do your personal best in the assigned 6 miles.
