Desi Girls Summer 2015‏ - Welcome

Girls,

I hope you are all as excited as I am to say goodbye to winter and are ready for Spring.

If you are interested in improving your fitness by group-walking for fifteen weeks during this summer in a fun, non-intimidating way, read further. Otherwise, please delete this email.

We will start the second Edition of Desi Girls on May 24th. It is a 15 week training program with a culminating half Marathon on Sep 5, 2015. Having learnt from last year's mistakes, I have incorporated some changes this year.

Let me set some ground rules to help us get started:

- Long walks are on saturdays between 6 am and 7 am at Mile 0 of Red Trail in Busse Woods. We will meet as a group only for the long walks. You are on your own for the other days.

- You are not under any pressure to run. If walking works best for you, go for it. You are your only competitor.

- Before you commit to this program, please make sure you have your family support. It is very, very important.

- My top focus this year will be INJURY PREVENTION, INJURY PREVENTION, INJURY PREVENTION. If we get hurt in the process of improving fitness, it defeats the purpose.

- The only cost to this program is "Lost sleep on saturday morning".
